The Role: Hebrew Teacher 🎓
We seek a dedicated educator passionate about delivering engaging, standards-based Hebrew instruction while fostering an inclusive and immersive language environment.
What You'll Do:
- Maintain a strong belief that all students can learn and uphold high academic standards
- Commit to ongoing professional growth through self-reflection and feedback
- Design and submit weekly lesson plans aligned with our proficiency-based curriculum
- Conduct immersive Hebrew lessons, communicating exclusively in Hebrew throughout the school day
- Analyze and document assessments to monitor student progress
- Create a lively, inviting classroom environment with varied instructional techniques
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in Hebrew language education
- Show evidence of student achievement growth in prior roles
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curricular coherence
- Engage families through relationship building and ongoing communication
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to working with students and staff
- Approach challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Participate in curriculum development and evaluate its effectiveness
Who You Are 🌟
- Fluent in English and a native or near-native proficiency in Hebrew
- Knowledgeable in language acquisition and proficiency-based instruction methods
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Master’s preferred
- Experience in K-12 classrooms, especially in urban or public charter schools, is a plus
- Hold or be working towards NY teacher certification
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Hebrew
- Legally authorized to work in the USA
