Job Responsibilities

• Interpretation Services: Provide interpretation for Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals, their families, clients, and staff.
• Multi-Setting Support: Work across medical, legal, educational, and social service environments to facilitate access to services.
• Cultural Mediation: Assist professionals in delivering culturally sensitive care, support, and instructions.
• Customer Focus & Privacy: Maintain a commitment to excellent customer service, confidentiality, safety, and teamwork.

Position Details

Job Type: On-site (in person)

Locations: Bronx, NY & Westchester County (Mount Vernon & New Rochelle)

Schedule: Typically during regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM), with some Saturdays; schedules are flexible based on client needs.

Rate: Varies depending on experience and certifications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Work Experience: Minimum 1+ years interpreting experience or successful internship; experience in medical, legal, educational, or customer service settings is a plus.
• Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certifications like CMI, CHI, CCHI, or interpreting courses are advantageous.
• Language Fluency: Fluent in both spoken and written English and the target language, with native-level proficiency preferred.
• Skills: Demonstrate professional interpreting skills and the ability to perform short translation tasks.
