Join Del Monte's global procurement team! We are seeking a dedicated professional to manage the sourcing and purchasing of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and seeds worldwide, acting as a vital link between the company and its vendors.

🌱 Purpose of Position

This role is responsible for the procurement of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and seeds across various locations globally. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between Del Monte and its vendors, assist in researching, evaluating, and negotiating spot purchases and long-term agreements.

📝 Accountabilities

• Business Advisory: Provide insights, conclusions, and recommendations to stakeholders quarterly for budget and planning purposes.
• Market Intelligence: Stay informed on market and price trends within agrochemicals and fertilizers to identify new sourcing opportunities and ensure supply continuity.
• Sourcing Strategy: Maintain diverse sources to avoid dependency on single suppliers; monitor vendor performance using KPIs.
• Cost Optimization & Innovation: Continuously review materials and methods to reduce costs and drive innovative solutions within the supply base.
• Price Analysis: Conduct price-cost analyses to assess competitiveness and reasonableness of critical supplies.
• Operational Support: Explore efficiency opportunities and support their implementation across the business.
• Procurement Management: Review requisitions, manage purchase orders, and oversee contract lifecycles within financial guidelines.
• Negotiations & Contracting: Participate in negotiations, especially for contracts exceeding financial authority, and manage major agreements.
• Requirement Consolidation: Work across divisions to consolidate needs for optimal purchasing leverage.
• Value Addition: Identify and promote synergies across divisions and countries to foster successful implementation.
• Vendor Selection & Negotiation: Evaluate bids, select suppliers based on value, and negotiate terms, with direction from the traffic department or supervisor.
• Supplier Coordination: Ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and compliance with purchase orders and specifications.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Work with accounting to resolve invoice and purchase order discrepancies.
• Project Support: Research and share pricing details, literature samples, and related information for assigned projects.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly purchasing reports for management review.
• Record Keeping: Maintain updated records on vendor performance, price histories, product info, and commodities.
• System & Method Support: Assist divisions with purchasing systems, procedures, and multi-division agreements.
• Safety & Compliance: Distribute and uphold safety guidelines and end-use procedures provided by vendors for agricultural materials.

🎓 Minimum Skills & Qualifications

• 4-year College Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
• At least 5 years of global procurement experience in multi-site, multicultural companies
• Strong knowledge of category management and strategic sourcing
• Experience in risk mitigation strategies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
• Bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English
