Job Description 📚
Instruct students in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French, while enriching their understanding of the associated culture. Inspire and motivate learners to achieve language proficiency and cultural appreciation.
Responsibilities & Duties ✨
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with District’s curriculum, providing evidence of preparation.
- Tailor lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles.
- Present content according to guidelines from the Texas Education Agency, Board policies, and regulations.
- Utilize appropriate instructional strategies, activities, and materials that meet students' needs.
- Assess learning styles and use findings to refine instructional plans.
- Collaborate with special education staff to adapt curricula per Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Coordinate with colleagues on instructional goals and methods.
- Manage and supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
- Incorporate technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Assist students with study techniques and habits.
- Conduct ongoing student assessments through tests and informal evaluations.
- Lead extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside events.
- Model positive behavior and support the mission of the school district.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to social, emotional, and physical development.
- Manage classroom behavior per Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
- Ensure safety and protection of students and resources.
- Assist in selecting instructional materials and resources.
- Maintain open communication with parents, students, and staff through conferences.
- Build professional relationships within the school community.
- Present information clearly and effectively using strong communication skills.
- Participate in staff development activities to enhance teaching skills.
- Stay informed of policies and comply with district and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
- Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as needed.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Virtual Instruction Assignments 💻
- Integrate approved online platforms and software into virtual teaching.
- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons during and outside standard hours.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff during all hours.
- Adhere to professional responsibilities, deadlines, and responsiveness.
- Create a quiet, professional virtual classroom environment.
- Provide small group instruction and tutoring for struggling students.
- Support extracurricular activities in accordance with district policies.
- Attend all district and campus virtual meetings.
Qualifications & Experience 🏅
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements for the subject and level
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong oral proficiency in French
- Ability to collaborate with the foreign language team
- Experience supervising foreign language clubs and activities
Additional Information ⚙️
Work Environment: Maintain emotional control under stress, with occasional extended hours. Physical effort includes standing, bending, and moving classroom equipment.
