UC San Diego Is Hiring A French Lecturer

The Literatures of the World Section at the University of California San Diego is hiring a part-time French instructor for the upcoming academic year, starting Fall 2026.

🌍 About the Position

The Department of Literature's Literatures of the World Section seeks a dedicated instructor to teach intermediate French courses for the academic year, with responsibilities including syllabus design, student assessment, and enrollment management.

🔧 Duties

  • Course Instruction: Design syllabi and teach three intermediate French courses (French 2A, 2B, 2C) annually.
  • Assessments: Administer and score placement exams during Winter and Spring quarters.
  • Enrollment Management: Review and process enrollment authorization requests via EASy during Winter and Spring quarters.
  • Office Hours: Provide student support through scheduled office hours.

🎓 Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in French, French Literature, French Linguistics, or a related field (Required). PhD preferred.
  • Experience: Proven teaching experience in French language and literature courses.
