About the Role

At Concorde Education, we're seeking an enthusiastic French Instructor to lead after-school language enrichment programs for students (grade band varies by assignment). This role emphasizes foundational French communication through interactive and student-centered lessons.

Instructors will facilitate small to mid-sized groups in a structured yet fun environment, focusing on speaking, listening, and cultural exploration. Programs typically last 10 weeks with the flexibility to adjust pacing based on student needs and site logistics.

What You’ll Teach

Help students develop basic French language skills and cultural knowledge through participating in lively, hands-on lessons. Topics may include:

  • Greetings, introductions, and everyday conversational phrases 🌟
  • Numbers, dates, and telling time 🕒
  • High-frequency vocabulary (school, family, hobbies, food)
  • Basic sentence structure and common verbs
  • Listening and speaking activities via games, role-play, and guided dialogue 🎮
  • Introductory reading and writing (as appropriate)
  • French and Francophone culture (traditions, geography, music, food)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging, structured after-school sessions aligned with program goals
  • Prioritize student participation, especially speaking and listening
  • Adjust instruction to accommodate different skill levels and group sizes
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and classroom-appropriate environment 🛡️
  • Track attendance and communicate effectively with program staff
  • Deliver a culminating activity or project that showcases student learning

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)
  • Strong working proficiency in French
  • Experience working with K–12 students (teaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)
  • Excellent classroom presence and ability to engage students
  • Reliable, professional, and responsive
  • Able to create fun, age-appropriate learning experiences 🎉
