Position Overview

The teacher, within their area of professional expertise, will instruct students using methods aligned with the program(s) of studies adopted by the Board of Education. Collaborating with staff members, our teachers develop and implement effective educational programs and deliver appropriate services to students.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Implement educational programs and curricula
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Utilize instructional management systems that enhance student understanding
• Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and the educational community
• Meet professional responsibilities and uphold standards
• Demonstrate competency in technology standards and tools
• Deliver curricula mandated by the City School district
• Base instruction on adopted curricula and current knowledge in your subject area
• Employ a variety of instructional strategies to support achievement
• Use content scope and sequence in planning lessons
• Maintain an environment aligned with the school's mission for effective learning
• Follow discipline procedures and establish clear rules to enhance learning
• Encourage consistent student attendance
• Set high, positive expectations for student performance
• Acknowledge and celebrate individual student achievements and appropriate behavior
• Create an inclusive environment accommodating diverse learning needs
• Provide timely feedback and communicate with parents regarding student progress
• Organize teaching strategies to maximize instructional time
• Prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with instructional objectives
• Follow grading policies, and maintain accurate student records
• Respect confidentiality regarding students, parents, and staff
• Adhere to applicable laws, policies, rules, and regulations
• Perform duties punctually, including reporting, grading, and record-keeping

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio teaching certificate or license
• Proper endorsements as required for the subject and grade level
