ABC is a dedicated non-profit organization since 1986, committed to ensuring every child's joyful, healthy, and safe life through innovative programs. We are currently seeking a full-time Family Peer Advocate to support children and adolescents at our Bronx-based clinic. 😊

About Our Team & Program
Our Fast Break program conducts mental health screenings, offers individual and group counseling, and provides capacity-building training for parents across four clinic sites. The Family Peer Advocate (FPA) will be based at our Bronx clinic, supporting families through compassionate advocacy.
Responsibilities of the Family Peer Advocate (FPA) 🎯
- Serve as a vital member of the treatment team, assisting parents with referrals to schools and external resources.
- Identify and address barriers to accessing services, tackling stigma and practical obstacles.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support parents in navigating systems of care and psychosocial challenges.
- Lead workshops for parents on mental health topics to reduce stigma and provide psycho-education.
Qualifications
- Be a parent or legal guardian with lived experience parenting a child with behavioral, emotional, or developmental needs, including interaction with various care systems.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Comfortable providing advocacy, coordinating services, and empowering families.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

- Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Experience: 1 year in child welfare (Preferred)
