Family Engagement Specialist - Bilingual (Arabic)

Community Action Head Start is seeking a dynamic and passionate Family Engagement Specialist to join our dedicated team! In this role, you'll work closely with children, families, and team members to enhance family well-being, foster strong parent-child relationships, and support families across various areas.

About the Role

• Coordinate comprehensive Head Start services related to early childhood education, health, mental health, social-emotional development, and parent education.
• Partner with staff to develop and implement family engagement opportunities that:
  • Enhance family well-being
  • Promote positive parent-child relationships
  • Support families as lifelong educators and learners
  • Connect families to peers and the community
  • Encourage leadership and advocacy within the community
• Assist families in addressing crisis events that may affect a child's participation or basic family needs.
• Provide interpretation and translation services for Arabic-speaking families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Child, Youth and Family Studies, Psychology, or related field (preferred)
• Two years’ experience working in a community-based, culturally, and/or socially economically diverse, family-centered program
• Bilingual in Arabic
• Previous Head Start or Early Childhood experience (preferred)
• Valid Nebraska Driver’s License with a good driving record

Compensation

Starting Pay: $19.02/hour 💰
