Role Overview

As a face-to-face interpreter, you will facilitate in-person communication during medical, social service, and other appointments. This role offers a rewarding way to earn money while utilizing your bilingual skills to support diverse communities.

• Face-to-face interpretation only — not via video or phone 📞🚫
• Use your language skills to aid those in need during appointments
• Flexible scheduling with assignments available 24/7/365 🗓️⏰

What You Need to Know

Your bilingual abilities are highly sought after! As a contractor, you control your workload and schedule. Most assignments are during business hours, but options are available around the clock.

Take as many or as few assignments as you like—this is a great opportunity for flexible work and good pay!

Requirements

• Reside in the Central Ohio area 🏡
• High School Diploma or equivalent 🎓
• Eligible to work in the United States 🇺🇸
• Pass a Federal Criminal Background Check (fingerprints) and a 10-panel drug screening at no cost to you 💊
• Provide proof of completion from an accredited interpreter training program (minimum 40 hours), such as:
  • Bridging the Gap
  • Access 2 Interpreters' "Access Academy"
  • Court Interpretation
  • Certificate or Degree in Interpretation from an accredited college or university 🎓
• Offer Certification of Bilingual Proficiency or complete a reputable 3rd-party Bilingual Fluency Evaluation 📝

Languages We Are Looking For

If you speak English and one or more of the following — Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, and/or Urdu — we encourage you to apply. No previous professional interpretation experience or English as a second language (ESL) skills are welcome!
