📝 Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced full-time Medical Assistant to support our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and be fluent in both English and Spanish. Training will be provided, and an immediate start is preferred.

📍 Location

Brooklyn (near the R train)

🕗 Schedule & Requirements

  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week, starting at 8:00 am
  • Experience & Training: Medical Assistant training and at least 1 year of experience required
  • Availability: Must be available to start immediately
  • Work Environment: Private practice setting, autonomous work expected

💼 Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant will perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:

  • 🤝 Assist the doctor during patient visits (perform EKGs, take blood pressure, etc. — will train)
  • 📞 Handle patient and pharmacy calls, including triage, prescriptions, and inquiries
  • 🚪 Prepare examination rooms and necessary supplies; keep inventory up to date
  • 🛡️ Ensure safety, security, and compliance with legal standards and procedures
  • 💼 Communicate with insurance providers for prior authorizations and eligibility verification
  • 📱 Answer incoming calls and communicate effectively in Spanish with patients
  • 👩‍⚕️ Greet and register patients efficiently, maintain professionalism, and process check-outs
  • 💵 Collect and document co-pays accurately
  • 📅 Schedule patient appointments
  • 📝 Maintain and update patient records, including personal and financial information
  • 💻 Perform routine office tasks such as data entry, filing, scanning, faxing, emailing, and copying; basic computer skills required
  • 🔧 Experience with EMR and Practice Management software is a plus
  • 💰 Assist with billing procedures
  • 🗣️ Provide Spanish translation as needed
