We are looking for a multilingual Employee Relations Specialist to foster positive relationships between our company and employees across multiple states. If you are empathetic, professional, and fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean, we want to hear from you!

Position Overview

Position: Employee Relations Specialist (NJ) – Must speak English, Spanish, Korean

Location: Valla, with additional locations in MD, CA, and GA

Job Description

The Employee Relations Specialist manages the relationship between the company and its employees, overseeing all stages from recruitment through exit processes. You will collaborate closely with Human Resources and executive management to ensure a positive, compliant, and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and update employee files accurately and securely 📁
  • Track employee progress, including promotions, recognitions, and policy violations
  • Maintain former employee files in compliance with legal standards
  • Advertise positions, identify candidates, and communicate with potential hires
  • Conduct interviews, employment verification, background checks, and communicate decisions to candidates
  • Assist with completing hiring paperwork alongside HR team
  • Educate employees about company policies, benefits, and compensation; develop onboarding and training programs
  • Act as a liaison between employer and employees to oversee relations and resolve issues
  • Handle employee grievances, escalating disciplinary or legal actions when necessary
  • Inform staff about policy updates and advise supervisors on employee treatment
  • Manage employee departures, including layoffs, resignations, and terminations, through exit interviews and severance administration
  • Support management in addressing workplace conflicts and interpreting employment contracts
  • Perform HR duties such as addressing staffing shortages and administering disciplinary procedures
  • Research and implement learning and development initiatives
  • Document investigations, reports, and activities accurately
  • Travel domestically as needed ✈️

Qualifications & Skills

  • Empathetic with excellent interpersonal skills ❤️
  • Demonstrated good judgment and conflict resolution abilities
  • Friendly, persuasive, and trustworthy as a liaison between employees and management
  • Human Resources experience and knowledge of employment laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field 🎓
  • Minimum of 3+ years of HR experience
  • aPHR or PHR certification preferred
  • Fluency in at least two languages: Korean, English, and/or Spanish (verbal and written skills required) 🗣️
