Position Overview: Driver, G-2 🚗

Reporting directly to the Administrative Officer and closely guided by the transport focal point (Dispatcher), the Driver G-2 plays a vital role in providing reliable and safe driving services. You will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring compliance with local driving rules and regulations. A client-oriented approach with courtesy, tact, and cultural sensitivity is essential for working effectively with diverse individuals.

How Can You Make a Difference? 🌟

As a Driver at the G-2 level, you will:

  • Provide reliable and safe transportation services for UNICEF staff, officials, visitors, and the delivery of mail and documents.
  • Assist with airport pickups, visa formalities, and other logistical arrangements when needed.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in excellent condition through minor repairs, regular servicing, and proper documentation.
  • Ensure all vehicle documentation and supplies are current and complete, including insurance, registration, and safety equipment.
  • Handle immediate actions in case of accidents or security incidents according to rules and regulations.

Qualification & Skills 🎓🛠️

To qualify as a Champion for every child, you should have:

  • Secondary education with a valid driver’s license (C1 and D). Knowledge of local driving rules is mandatory.
  • At least two years of professional driving experience, preferably with an international organization or the UN system, with a safe driving record.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English; knowledge of Hebrew is an asset.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of local roads, city, and driving conditions.
  • Understanding of driving regulations, protocol, and courteous chauffeur practices.
  • Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Patience and tactfulness when dealing with visitors.
  • High confidentiality, initiative, and sound judgment.
  • Effective collaboration with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
