Your Role

As a Developer Relations Engineer, you will play a vital role in fostering the adoption of Layer 2 solutions. Your primary focus will be supporting the regional developer ecosystem through workshops, technical content, and building meaningful collaborations. You will also assist various foundation departments with their technical needs. Staying current with blockchain developments, especially within Ethereum, and having a genuine passion for developer engagement are essential skills for this role.

Your Responsibilities

  • Developer Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with developers both inside and outside the Arbitrum community. Serve as a go-to technical support point.
  • Advocacy & Community Building: Develop strategies to grow and sustain a dynamic developer community—organize meetups, webinars, workshops, and events for knowledge sharing.
  • Contributing: Create and update technical documentation, tutorials, and open-source contributions to facilitate seamless integration with Arbitrum. Deliver educational content through multiple channels.
  • Feedback Loop: Collect insights from developers and communicate their needs to product and engineering teams to inform improvements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product management, and engineering teams to align outreach efforts with strategic goals.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Analyze engagement metrics to assess the impact of developer relations activities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Technical Assessment of Leads: Evaluate leads such as grant proposals and product requirements, focusing on technical team capabilities, architecture, source code, and project timelines.
  • Open Source Contributions: Contribute back to the ecosystem through open-source projects or educational materials.

What You'll Need

  • Fluency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Typescript, Python, Go, Rust, Java)
  • Basic knowledge of Solidity
  • Deep understanding of blockchain technology and EVM solutions
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in English, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly
  • Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is a strict requirement
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience in developer relations, advocacy, or related roles in blockchain or tech industry
  • Proven community-building experience
  • Commercial experience with Solidity
  • Exposure to Rust programming
  • Open-source contributions within the EVM space
  • Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Hindi, Korean, or Japanese
