Design Engineer Job Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models based on sketches and provided data.
• Visualize and conceptualize designs in 3D, drawing on existing similar designs.
• Learn quickly and manage multiple projects; travel required.
• Exercise independent judgment to select appropriate design criteria based on customer data and project scope.
• Research new products and technologies to support innovation.
• Review customer and discipline drawings for physical interferences and design requirements.
• Provide technical support to project engineers, managers, clients, and fabrication teams.
• Coordinate with team members and contractors across various software platforms.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to clarify design requirements.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of equipment and piping designs.
• Visit job sites to take measurements and perform 3D laser scanning for equipment design.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, or other 3D software for modeling and simulation.
• Create 3D simulations of equipment and piping movements.

Bilingual Design Engineer Job Skills

• Fluent in Korean and English
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team
• Strong communication skills across disciplines
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of electric arc steelmaking (plus)
• Experience with metal plate fabrication and welding (preferred)
• Familiarity with piping design and components (preferred)
• Understanding of heat transfer and fluid dynamics
• Experience integrating laser scan point cloud data into 3D modeling software (plus)
• Experience with FEA and CFD (plus)

Experience & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Structural
• Entry-level position in our Engineering department, reporting to the Engineering Supervisor
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
