About the Role

Lightcast is seeking dedicated and language-savvy individuals to contribute to our international data projects. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) independent contractor position lasting up to 9 months. Please note, it is a bring your own device (BYOD) role requiring access to a personal laptop.

Major Responsibilities

• Analyze and improve data quality of multilingual text classifiers 🌐
• Collaborate with linguistics and engineering teams to develop new parsers for various languages 🛠️
• Translate taxonomies such as Skills, Titles, and Occupations 📝
• Read and write proficiently in Hebrew 📖✍️
• Understand syntactic and structural language analysis 🧩
• Utilize Microsoft Excel skills including vlookups, data cleanup, and functions 🧮
• Apply knowledge of query languages such as SQL 🔍
• Write advanced rules using RegEx for text processing ✨
• Leverage principles of text analysis or machine learning 🧠
• Perform data analysis with tools like Excel or Python 🐍
• Handle repetitive tasks with high tolerance and precision 🔄
• Follow complex instructions, navigate ambiguity, and work independently 💪
• Manage time effectively with a strong sense of urgency ⏱️
• Maintain reliable laptop and internet connection for seamless work 📶

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Data Analytics, NLP, or a related field (preferred) 🎓
• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus 🌍
