Opportunity Overview

Be part of the innovative team behind our language training courses. From developing eLearning tools and interactive lectures to facilitating discussions, team exercises, case studies, role plays, and practical demonstrations, you will craft material that reflects real-world language analyst tasks. You will also update existing content to align with client training requirements.

Collaborate closely with language instructors and fellow developers in designing, developing, and documenting language and domain-specific training resources. Additionally, you will create practical evaluations to assess students' mastery of learning and performance objectives.

Responsibilities

• Clarify and document: Customer operational requirements, training objectives, and language level of materials
• Assist in project prioritization: For training development tasks
• Research: Leverage classified and unclassified domain-specific language resources for authentic content
• Develop training materials: Including transcription, translation, and analysis of operational, task-based exercises
• Collaborate: Work with language instructors and government/contractor developers to design and document training materials
• Utilize technology: (e.g., Audacity, Adobe C5S, Adobe Premiere) to develop blended training modules combining online, distance, and self-paced instruction
• Coordinate: With SIGINT Operations experts and other instructors to develop relevant language materials
• Design assessments: Practical evaluations to measure mastery of learning objectives
• Recommend tools: Identify learning applications that enhance training delivery

Qualifications

• Education: B.A./B.S. in Language, Area Studies, Education, Education Technology, ISD, or related field
• Language Proficiency:
  • Native capability in Russian, with minimum ILR level 4 in reading, listening, and speaking, and ILR level 2 in English skills, or
  • Native capability in English, with minimum ILR level 3 in Russian reading and listening
• Experience (minimum 5 years):
  • Three (3) years in SIGINT or Intelligence Community as a language analyst and/or instructor
  • Two (2) years in developing or updating language training materials following ISD principles (within the last 6 years)
• Alternative Experience: 4 extra years in language education, instructional design, or language analysis can substitute for a degree, totaling 9 years of related work experience
• Additional Skills:
  • One (1) year typing in English and foreign language fonts using appropriate software
  • One (1) year in instructional systems design, particularly web-based or distance learning technologies (e.g., Centra, Blackboard, Questionmark, SumTotal) within the last 4 years

Desired Qualifications

• One (1) year experience with digital audio editing tools such as Audacity or Sound Forge

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $78,700 – $165,200.
