Position Summary

The Lifelong Learning Department is seeking a part-time German instructor to teach evening classes in our continuing education World Languages program at the Arnold campus this Fall. Prior teaching experience is required.

Candidates invited for interviews will be asked to give a short teaching demonstration. Please include your schedule availability and location preferences in your cover letter.

The instructor will follow provided curriculum outlines and learning expectations, utilizing the Canvas Learning Management System. Candidates must have proficient German language skills, a minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement daily instructional lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, ensuring adherence to college policies and philosophies.
• Deliver engaging instruction through lectures and practical classes, whether on campus, off campus, or remotely, according to professional standards.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with students, faculty, and staff to support collaboration and student success.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of grades, attendance, reports, and other documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in German language studies or a related field.
• Three (3) years of teaching experience in the German language.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay dates are on the 7th and 22nd of each month. If these dates fall on a weekend, payment occurs on the preceding Friday.
