Job Description

I-Call International is looking to hire dedicated Cantonese Interpreters to work remotely. As a Cantonese consecutive medical interpreter, your primary role will be to bridge communication gaps within healthcare settings, ensuring accurate and culturally sensitive exchanges between patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpretation: Accurately interpret medical terminology, diagnoses, treatments, and other information between Cantonese-speaking patients and healthcare staff, including doctors and nurses.
• Cultural Mediation: Provide cultural insights to help patients understand the healthcare system and assist healthcare providers in understanding cultural differences that may impact care.
• Confidentiality: Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times.
• Documentation: Record details of interpretation services such as date, time, duration, and type of interpretation for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
• Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest medical terminology and healthcare practices to ensure high-quality interpretation services.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Cantonese and English
• Relevant experience in interpretation or translation
• Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with healthcare systems
• Excellent communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and ability to work well under pressure

Technical Requirements

• Stable internet connection (minimum 10MB download and upload speed)
• Computer with an Intel Core i5 processor (5th generation or higher) and at least 4GB RAM

Compensation
