Position: Call Center Agent (Bilingual Vietnamese)

Job Overview

Location: HOPE Health and Wellness Center

Reports To: Call Center Team Lead

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $15.00+/hour

FLSA Status: Hourly – Non-Exempt

Education: High School Diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred

Work Experience: 2+ years in healthcare preferred

Language Requirements: Fluent in English; Bilingual in English & Mandarin or Vietnamese required

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Call Center Agent will respond professionally to telephone inquiries, ensuring patient satisfaction by delivering quality service, identifying patient needs, and assisting with healthcare-related issues and concerns. 🎯

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • 📞 Answer calls promptly, politely, and professionally
  • 📝 Obtain and accurately input demographic information into eClinical Works
  • 📅 Schedule appointments properly and inform patients of necessary documents to bring
  • ❓ Provide answers to questions and offer information to foster a positive patient experience
  • 🤝 Act as a liaison for clinic patients
  • 🔄 Redirect calls to appropriate departments as needed
  • 🧠 Use sound judgment, especially when handling irate patients
  • ⚠️ Know when to escalate calls to medical personnel, physicians, or managers
  • 🌟 Contribute positively to staff morale and the organizational culture
  • 🔒 Protect patient and agency confidentiality, in compliance with HIPAA standards
  • 💙 Ensure patients receive optimal care and follow-up as required
  • 📞 Contact patients for program participation and rescheduling missed appointments
  • 🌍 Participate in community engagement activities and clinic events as needed
  • 🛠 Perform additional duties supporting HOPE Clinic’s Mission, Vision, and Values

Qualification Requirements

  • Effective communicator over the phone
  • Adept at relating to patients from diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer service abilities
  • Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Experience with insurance and medical fields preferred
  • Proficient with computers and software applications
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking skills
  • Experience with office equipment such as computers and copiers
  • Comfortable managing multiple tasks with varying complexity

Education & Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Prior experience in healthcare or call centers is advantageous

Skills & Abilities

  • Bi-lingual proficiency in Mandarin or Vietnamese and English is required 🗣️
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills
  • Reliable transportation and a valid Texas Driver’s License
