🎯 Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Business Advisor/Team Leader, the Business Advisor (Korean Speaker) is responsible for fostering relationships with small businesses and community partners, maintaining a robust pipeline of loan applicants, preparing loan packages, providing personalized business coaching, and monitoring loan portfolios post-disbursement. This role primarily serves clients in the Flushing (NYC), Long Island, and Westchester County regions.
📋 Responsibilities
- Develop strong partnerships with small business owners, associations, and community organizations through outreach and local events.
- Offer one-on-one counseling on financial health and cash flow management.
- Assist clients with REDC loan application preparation for underwriting submission.
- Manage and track loan performance, providing follow-up counseling as needed.
- Conduct site visits to understand client operations and needs.
- Lead workshops and training sessions for small business owners.
- Maintain close client contact to ensure satisfaction and anticipate future financing needs.
- Accurately document and update client information in Salesforce.
- Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive client information responsibly.
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
🎓 Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, or community development.
- Fluent in both English and Korean.
- Knowledge of tax reports, P&L statements, and account statements.
- Experience in outreach, marketing, or service promotion to generate leads.
- At least 2 years in small business counseling, lending, or economic development (preferred).
- Experience managing or working within a small business is a plus.
- Strong understanding of the local business landscape in Flushing, Long Island, and Westchester.
- Exceptional client management and customer service skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to address diverse audiences.
- Knowledge of finance and accounting (preferred).
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Quick learner of local resources and business environment.
- Experience working with low-income and diverse communities.
- Capable of multitasking under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency in Salesforce, Google Suite, and MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Willingness to travel between NYC, Long Island, and Westchester County regions.
