Position Overview 🔍

We are looking for an experienced Bilingual Technical Writer (m/f/d) in German and English to join our Global Product Management Operations team. This role is perfect for a professional skilled in translating complex technical information into clear, accessible documentation, handling both content creation and translation management across multiple languages.

Purpose 🎯

As a Bilingual Technical Writer (German-English), you will create and manage detailed documentation for Syntax’s products and services. Your responsibilities will include leading documentation and translation projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure top-quality, user-friendly content. You should possess near-native proficiency in both German and English, technical expertise, and a talent for communicating complex concepts clearly.

Key Responsibilities 📝

• Documentation Development:
  • Establish standards, templates, terminology, and best practices for documentation.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including service descriptions, statements of work, and website content in German and English.
  • Ensure content clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
  • Collaborate with product managers, legal teams, and subject matter experts to include the latest features and updates.
  • Translate service descriptions and statements of work, ensuring semantic and cultural precision.
  • Manage translation workflows, coordinating with external agencies or freelancers.
  • Maintain translation memory and terminology databases for consistent style and tone.
  • Proofread and edit machine or AI-translated content to meet company standards.
• Project Management & Leadership:
  • Lead documentation projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate with teams to monitor progress and resolve issues.
• User-Centered Design:
  • Identify and cater to the needs of the target audience.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to enhance documentation quality.
  • Create visual aids like diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts to improve clarity.
• Content Management:
  • Organize documentation within content management systems (CMS).
  • Maintain currency, organization, and accessibility of content.
  • Apply and uphold documentation standards and templates for consistency.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, sales, legal, and customer success teams.
  • Participate in meetings to stay updated on product developments.
  • Support other teams with writing and editing tasks, ensuring quality.

Qualifications & Skills 🎓

Education 📚

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Translation, Communications, Computer Science, or related fields; advanced degrees preferred.

Experience 💼

• Minimum 5 years of technical writing experience, ideally in software or technology sectors.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including statements of work.

Skills & Competencies 🌟

• Native or near-native proficiency in English and German (spoken and written).
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills in both languages.
• Strong technical understanding and ability to explain complex concepts.
• Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, SharePoint) and CCMS systems.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency.
• Independent and team-oriented work ethic.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications 🌍

• Proficiency in Spanish and French is a plus.
