Overview

As a Relationship Banker, you'll identify customers' needs through the bank’s sales process, offering proactive solutions and referrals for more complex requirements. You will play a vital role in enhancing the branch experience via lobby management, service, and sales interactions for both retail and business clients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Relationship & Sales Management: Conduct customer assessments, profile clients for sales opportunities, facilitate account openings, and lead outbound calling efforts.
• Sales Process & Risk Management: Prepare for client interactions with pre-call planning, ensure compliance with audit and fraud prevention measures, and adhere to KYC and CIP standards.
• Customer Profiling & Value Addition: Research customer profiles to identify ways to enhance banking relationships, aligning discussions with financial goals.
• Product & Service Recommendations: Work collaboratively to identify customer needs and present suitable banking products and services.
• Proactive Outreach & Education: Engage clients via email or phone to follow up and inform them about value-added offerings.
• New Customer Onboarding: Facilitate onboarding through outreach across channels, ensuring a seamless experience.
• Trust & Relationship Building: Establish and maintain trust through regular, proactive communication with existing clients.
• Scheduling & Appointment Management: Plan and conduct weekly appointments, preparing adequately beforehand.
• Compliance & Controls: Meet registration requirements under the Federal SAFE Act and adhere to all operational and regulatory standards.
• Customer Service & Support: Handle customer interactions diligently and professionally.
• Work Environment & Brand Promotion: Foster an inclusive environment reflecting the M&T Bank brand.
• Internal Controls & Audit: Maintain internal control standards and address audit or regulatory issues promptly.
• Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support branch operations.

Scope of Responsibilities

This role serves as the branch's primary point for sales, service, and referrals, driving customer flow and supporting branch goals. The position involves servicing existing customers, identifying new sales opportunities, and staying current on operational updates, product enhancements, and risk management strategies to prevent losses and fraud.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 2 years of retail sales, call center, customer service, or telesales experience OR
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with a minimum of 1 year proactive sales experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree
• Notary public license
• Bilingual capabilities based on branch needs

Compensation & Location 💰📍

M&T Bank offers a competitive pay range of $23.84 - $39.74 per hour (USD). The final offer depends on your skills, knowledge, and experience.
