Position Overview: Consumer Auto Specialist ๐
The Consumer Auto Specialist is responsible for accurately preparing and managing motor vehicle loan documents, including titled and non-titled auto loans. This role involves reviewing member documentation, ensuring compliance, coordinating closing processes, and maintaining title perfection to support our members' vehicle ownership and registration needs.
Essential Functions ๐ ๏ธ
- Auto Loan Processing: Research compliance issues, communicate with involved parties, meet underwriting conditions, resolve discrepancies, validate data, and update systems. Calculate sales tax based on local regulations. Schedule loan closings via DocuSign, in-branch, or mail, ensuring all documents adhere to state DMV policies. Generate closing documents and analyze title paperwork for state submission and lien perfection.
- Title Management: Manage outstanding title reports, facilitate title transfers, and assist ongoing training classes related to titles.
- Member and Operational Support: Handle email and phone requests, assist with change requests related to member accounts, and participate in team rotations for reporting, document retrieval, and mail distribution.
- Compliance & Funding: Adhere to the Bank Secrecy Act policies, verify documentation completeness, disburse funds, and upload all necessary documents to our system, Synergy.
Qualifications & Skills ๐
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience in a financial institution or credit union, providing member service or transaction processing
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 1+ years in motor vehicle titling or lien perfection in a consumer lending environment, dealership, or titling office
- 1+ years in Consumer Lending Processing
- Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
Technical & Personal Skills
- Knowledge of motor vehicle documents and transaction requirements
- Understanding of auto loan products
- Strong communication, training, and policy development skills
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
Certifications and Environmental Requirements ๐ฏ
Certifications: None required
Physical & Environmental Conditions: Occasional standing, walking, reaching, and handling; frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions; minimal exposure to temperature changes or loud noises.
Compensation & Benefits ๐ฐ
The hourly pay range for this position is $26.41 to $28.61 (S13), with final compensation determined by experience, skills, education, and internal pay structures. The role includes:
