What is a Retail Parts Pro? 🤔
A Professional Level Sales Position supporting advanced DIY automotive services. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive components, and parts. The Retail Parts Pro provides troubleshooting, identification, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing parts from various channels such as special orders, FDO, or secondary sources. In-depth understanding of inventory management and store operations is essential. This is a full-time position.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience during customer visits and phone inquiries 📞
- Achieve personal and store sales targets, along with service objectives 🎯
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper replacements, etc. 🔧
- Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance ✨
- Perform key holder duties such as task management, safety protocols, and opening/closing store duties 🔑
Secondary Responsibilities
- Assist with store inventory processes: truck put-away, cycle counts, back stock, etc. 📦
- ensure store cleanliness — floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot maintenance 🧹
- Provide DIY services, including battery installation, testing, wiper replacements, etc. 🔧

- ASE P2 certification or equivalent (preferred) ✅
- Ability to recommend solutions, projects, and high-quality products
- Advanced sourcing and parts lookup skills
- Strong DIY sales abilities
Essential Skills for Success
- Solid understanding of automotive systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.)
- Effective communication in English (Spanish a plus); building strong relationships 💬
- Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, parts catalogs, and procedures 📖
- Following written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
- Competency in completing Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division 🧮
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent organizational skills
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including days, evenings, and weekends 🗓️
Prior Experience & Education
- 3-5 years of automotive parts experience
- Proven sales success and transaction fulfillment
Certificates, Licenses & Certifications
- Valid driver's license 🚗
- ASE certification preferred but not mandatory ✅
