Founded in 1909 through the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school continues its legacy of growth and support, proudly boasting over 12,000 graduates.
Position Overview
We are seeking married couples to serve as Full-Time Flex Houseparents. This impactful career involves living on campus, caring for a group of approximately 8–13 students, and fostering a nurturing, family-like environment that promotes academic, emotional, and social development. 🌟
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Mentorship: Providing daily guidance and support to students
- Household Management: Managing routines and schedules
- Health & Wellness: Administering medications and ensuring student well-being
- Transportation & Activities: Driving students to events and engaging in developmental & recreational activities
- Spiritual Leadership: Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel (Judeo-Christian services)
- Household Oversight: Overseeing budgeting and submitting household reports
Initially, houseparents support various student homes with a schedule of nine days on duty followed by three days off. Eventually, they transition into a Placed Houseparent role, living and working with the same students in their own home.

Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- Maximum of three dependent children living in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one approved breed dog
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; ability to certify to drive student vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong integrity and professionalism; serve as role models for students
