Position Overview

We are seeking married couples to serve as Full-Time Flex Houseparents. This enriching and impactful career involves living in on-campus student homes and guiding groups of around 8–13 students, fostering a supportive, family-like environment that promotes academic, emotional, and social growth. 🌱

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students
  • Manage household routines and student schedules
  • Administer medications and promote student wellness
  • Drive students to activities and plan engaging developmental and recreational activities
  • Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel
  • Oversee household budgeting and reporting

Initially, Flex Houseparents support various student homes with a working schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. During weekdays, they have unscheduled time while students are in school. Eventually, they transition into a Placed Houseparent role, living and working with the same group of students in a dedicated home. 🏠

Qualifications

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Legally married couples for at least two years
  • Both spouses aged 27 or older
  • Residence of no more than three dependent children in the student home
  • Commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
  • Pet restrictions: only fish and one approved breed dog allowed
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to get certified to drive student vans
  • Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and role-model qualities
