Position Overview 👥

As a Flex Houseparent, you and your spouse will live in on-campus student homes, caring for groups of approximately 8–13 students. Your role is vital in creating a nurturing, structured environment that supports academic, emotional, and social growth, helping students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities 🎯

  • Providing daily supervision and mentorship
  • Managing household routines and student schedules
  • Administering medications and supporting student wellness
  • Driving students to activities and planning engaging developmental and recreational events
  • Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
  • Overseeing household budgeting and reporting

Initially, houseparents support various student homes on a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty, followed by three days off. During weekdays, they have unscheduled time while students are in school. Over time, they may transition into a Placed Houseparent role, living and working consistently with the same group of students in their own home.

Compensation & Benefits 💰

  • Annual salary: $44,768 per person (Approximately $168,000 total per couple, including housing, meals, utilities, and more)

Qualifications & Requirements 📝

  • Experience working or volunteering with youth
  • Legally married couples for at least two years
  • Both spouses aged 27 or older
  • Maximum of three dependent children residing in the student home
  • Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
  • Pet restrictions: only fish and one approved breed of dog
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to obtain certification for driving student vans
  • Comfort leading students in daily devotions and attending Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel (proselytizing prohibited)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
