Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and bilingual Medical Assistant to support diverse medical specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient services. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent patient service abilities, and fluency in both English and Spanish. As a vital part of our team, you will assist with patient care, manage administrative tasks, and ensure smooth clinic operations, all while working in a dynamic healthcare setting. 🏥

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in both English and Spanish, creating a welcoming environment for all.
  • Take vital signs, record patient histories, and document clinical information within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and assisting with intake processes.
  • Support physicians with clinical tasks such as medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support during emergencies.
  • Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-up to optimize clinic workflow.
  • Assist with inpatient and outpatient care activities across departments including geriatrics, internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency medicine.
  • Maintain cleanliness and infection control of clinical areas, sterilize equipment, and follow infection protocols in hospital or trauma center settings.
  • Support ICD coding for accurate billing and documentation, especially in complex cases such as PICU or Level II trauma situations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant, especially in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic pharmacology relevant to inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in EHR systems or X-ray technology are a plus.
  • Experience working in hospital environments, including Level I or Level II trauma centers, is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in fast-paced settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting clinical teams across various specialties.

Additional Details

Pay: $24.31 - $26.00 per hour 💰
