About the Role

The Lead Teacher is a dedicated, goal-oriented professional responsible for delivering engaging, rigorous instruction and regularly assessing student progress to support academic growth.

Position Responsibilities

  • Execute the mission of LEEP Dual Language Academy
  • Believe in each child's ability to achieve high academic standards and provide unwavering support
  • Reflect on instructional practices and personal growth regularly
  • Invest several hours weekly in professional learning, including coaching, lesson study, co-planning, and book groups
  • Plan lessons across core subjects: SLA, ELA, Guided Reading, and Math
  • Develop student learning plans based on long-term and short-term goals and program objectives
  • Analyze assessment data to inform and differentiate instruction
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure mastery of standards
  • Maintain close relationships with families through calls and conferences
  • Select and utilize effective instructional methods and materials
  • Establish positive relationships with all students
  • Manage classrooms positively using Responsive Classroom practices
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and planning sessions
  • Prepare, administer, and review student assessments
  • Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal
  • Work some weekends and evenings as needed

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary ranges from $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 annually, depending on experience, education, and certifications. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of elementary teaching experience
  • Valid NYS Teaching Certification or current certification pathway
  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Strong commitment to student academic progress
  • Team-oriented with a sense of personal responsibility
  • Ability and willingness to receive and implement feedback from leadership
