Rhode Island Bar Assn. Is Hiring A Bilingual Japanese Customer Service Representative

Work Schedule
We are seeking candidates who are flexible and available to work a full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week. Shifts are 8 hours long and may be scheduled anytime from Monday through Sunday between 7:30 a.m. and midnight. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and varying shifts may be required.
Training
Training lasts for 16 weeks, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. EST. Attendance is mandatory with 100% required throughout the training period.
Responsibilities
- Operate as a company representative: answer and document all incoming contacts, determining their nature while responding to complex calls.
- Show respect and kindness: ensure every member feels valued, thoroughly answer questions, and promote high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identify and evaluate data: determine and implement appropriate actions to resolve member and customer inquiries.
- Follow established procedures: meet customer/member needs and enhance the company’s brand recognition and industry position.
- Communicate effectively: coordinate with diverse work units and organizational departments for prompt issue resolution.
- Complete required training: learn to utilize tools and recall necessary information efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year experience: handling and resolving a high volume of complex customer needs over the phone.
- High-speed internet: ability to hardwire via Ethernet from cable modem to PC.
- 1 year experience: using Windows-based applications like Windows OS, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email.
- Japanese bilingual: must pass written and verbal assessments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare work experience & familiarity with benefits, insurance, or medical terminology.
- Over 1 year experience in a call center, especially with inbound calls.
- Strong communication skills: oral and written.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Active listening proficiency.
- Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
- Positive attitude & strong interpersonal skills.
- Empathy towards customers’ needs and concerns.

Anticipated weekly hours: 40
Time type: Full-time
Pay range: $17.00 – $31.30/hour (basis for salary depends on experience, education, location, and other factors)
