🌍 The Role: Bilingual Interpreter (English & Cantonese)
Are you fluent in English and Cantonese with a professional background? Want to support meaningful conversations in medical, legal, or financial contexts? We’re looking for skilled interpreters to join our team, working in a call center environment, providing interpretation via phone and video. We provide paid training to help you excel as an Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreter (VRI).

💼 Key Responsibilities
- Interpret in medical, legal, customer service, and other sectors between English and Cantonese
- Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and emotional sensitivity in all interactions
- Respect confidentiality and impartiality at all times
- Manage call flow professionally, intervening respectfully for clarifications
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations
- Use active listening, note-taking, and memory retention techniques for longer conversations
- Stay within the interpreting role, avoiding personal opinions or advice
- Engage in ongoing training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Utilize basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) for call management

📝 Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); college experience preferred
- Fluency in English and Cantonese with B2+ proficiency
- Ability to pass language and interpreting skills assessments
- Minimum of 6 months experience in call center, customer service, or interpreting roles
- Strong verbal communication, ethical decision-making, and bilingual accuracy
- Proven professionalism in fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
- Responsible time management and integrity
- Comfort with assertive communication and session control
- Basic computer skills, including typing and MS Office
- Quiet, distraction-free workspace for active listening
- Reliable home internet connection (no cellular data or hotspots)
- Valid government-issued photo ID required throughout recruitment and training
