Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant 🌏

  • Serve as a cultural and linguistic liaison between the airline and guests
  • Make public announcements in both Japanese and English
  • Assist passengers with customs forms and other documentation
  • Resolve service issues promptly through effective service recovery
  • Collaborate with a diverse, multilingual crew to deliver seamless service

What Your Day Looks Like 🕰️

This role involves international, long-haul flights, requiring flexibility for multi-day trips, extended layovers, night departures, and weekend operations. Candidates must be adaptable for international on-call support (reserve) and scheduled duties.

Training & Onboarding 📚

  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience required
  • Attend a comprehensive 6.5-week paid training program in Houston
  • Training includes a mandatory language proficiency test in Japanese
  • No prior flight attendant experience necessary, but preferred

Career Growth & Compensation 💼

United offers an industry-leading wage, with an estimated annual base salary ranging from $50,000 to $80,000, inclusive of language pay. Employees benefit from comprehensive packages, profit sharing, and outstanding global travel privileges with United and Star Alliance partners.
