Your Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct safety procedures and provide in-flight service
- Make public announcements in Japanese and English
- Assist passengers with customs forms and travel documentation
- Support service recovery efforts and resolve passenger issues
- Collaborate effectively within a multi-lingual crew
Daily Operations & Schedule
This position is primarily focused on long-haul international flights. Be prepared for:
- Multi-day trips and extended layovers
- Night departures and weekend schedules
- Flexible, 24/7 on-call support (reserve), with scheduled shifts (lines)
Training & Onboarding
Candidates need a minimum of 2+ years of customer service experience. Training is a 6.5-week paid program in Houston, covering:
- Language proficiency testing
- Flight attendant certification (experience not required but preferred)
Career Progression & Compensation
United offers an industry-leading salary, with an estimated annual base pay ranging from $50,000 to $80,000 (including language pay). Benefits include profit sharing and extensive global travel privileges with United and Star Alliance partners.
