Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant

Beyond safety procedures and in-flight service, you will act as a cultural and linguistic liaison. Responsibilities include:

  • Making all public announcements in both Japanese and English
  • Assisting passengers with customs forms
  • Providing service recovery when issues occur
  • Collaborating effectively within a multi-lingual crew

Daily Responsibilities

This role is centered on long-haul international flights. You'll need to:

  • Prepare for multi-day trips and extended layovers
  • Work a flexible schedule, including night shifts and weekends
  • Be available for international on-call support (reserve) and scheduled lines

Training & Onboarding

Required prerequisites include:

  • At least 2 years of customer service experience
  • Completion of a 6.5-week paid training in Houston, including a language proficiency test
  • Experience as a flight attendant is not required but preferred

Career & Compensation Growth

United Airlines offers an industry-leading wage with an estimated annual base salary ranging from $50,000 to $80,000 (including language pay). Benefits include profit sharing and global travel privileges on United and Star Alliance partners. 🌟✈️
