Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant

Beyond traditional safety and service duties, you will act as a cultural and linguistic liaison. Your responsibilities include:

  • Making public announcements in Japanese and English
  • Providing passenger assistance with customs forms
  • Supporting service recovery for any issues that arise
  • Collaborating effectively within a multi-lingual crew

Your Day-to-Day

This role focuses on long-haul international travel. You should be ready for:

  • Multi-day trips and extended layovers 🏝️
  • Night shifts and weekend operations 🌙✨
  • Flexible availability for international on-call support (reserve) and scheduled lines

Training & Onboarding

Requirements and details include:

  • At least 2+ years of customer service experience
  • 6.5-week paid training in Houston, including a mandatory language proficiency test
  • No prior flight attendant experience required; experience is preferred

Career & Compensation

United Airlines offers a competitive industry wage with an estimated annual base salary ranging from $50,000 to $80,000 (including language pay). We provide an extensive benefits package, profit sharing, and global travel privileges on United and Star Alliance partners. 🌟✈️
