Your Role as a Bilingual Flight Attendant 🌏
- Perform standard safety and service duties
- Serve as a cultural and linguistic liaison
- Make public announcements in Japanese and English
- Assist passengers with customs forms and resolve service issues (service recovery)
- Work collaboratively within a multi-lingual crew (team collaboration)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities 🗓️
This position involves long-haul international flights, requiring flexibility for:
- Multi-day trips and extended layovers
- Night shifts and weekend operations
- International on-call support (reserve) & scheduled lines
Training & Onboarding 📚
- Minimum of 2+ years of customer service experience needed
- Complete a 6.5-week paid training program in Houston
- Mandatory language proficiency test in Japanese and English
- No prior flight attendant experience required, but preferred
Career Growth & Compensation 💼
United Airlines offers a competitive annual base salary estimated between $50,000 and $80,000, which includes language pay. Benefits include profit sharing and exclusive global travel privileges with United and Star Alliance partners.
