Job Description

Vital Research is seeking Bilingual Field Interviewers (English/Cantonese/Mandarin) in San Francisco, California. As independent contractors, you will conduct in-person interviews with older adults as part of our PACE survey projects, aimed at improving participant satisfaction. The project begins with a mandatory hybrid training session in late June, after which successful trainees will join our interview team across the San Diego metropolitan area. Work may be scheduled flexibly based on interview assignments throughout the three-month project duration.

Responsibilities

• 📝 Conduct in-person interviews with participants at day centers.
• ⏰ Be punctual, work independently, and maintain impartiality during interviews.
• 📋 Keep organized records of completed interviews, refusals, and other relevant data, updating the Vital Research team daily.
• 🤝 Build positive relationships with participants and effectively understand their feedback.
• 💻 Use company-issued tablets to perform brief 10-15 minute interviews in a private setting.
• 📱 Regularly communicate via personal cell phone and email with the Vital Research team.
• 🔒 Adhere to confidentiality requirements, federal HIPAA regulations, and data security protocols.
• 🕣 Be available during assignments from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with actual hours varying based on workload.

Requirements

• 🌐 Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, Cantonese, and/or Mandarin is required.
• 👵 Comfort engaging with older adults, demonstrating empathy regarding issues such as disability and health challenges.
• 🗂 Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills; capable of effective communication via email and phone.
• 💻 Proficiency in email, file management, internet use, and troubleshooting technical issues.
• 🖥 Personal computer or device with MS Excel and internet access.
• 📶 Reliable personal phone and wireless internet connection.
• ✍ Ability to accurately read, type, and record responses.
• 🔐 Ability to follow structured protocols ensuring compliance with confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• 👔 Adherence to business casual dress code and personal presentation requirements.
• 🚗 Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and automobile insurance.

Desired Qualifications

• 🏥 Experience or familiarity with older adults, nursing homes, assisted living, or adult daycare centers preferred.
• 🎤 Previous interviewing experience is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

• 💰 $30.00 per hour.
• 🚗 Mileage, drive time, and other reimbursement options included.
