Purpose of the Position 🎯

To provide responsible support services to children and families, serve as a liaison with ELL parents regarding district programs, and offer resources and information to foster community involvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None

Key Duties & Responsibilities 📋

  • Ensure all actions align with Board policies and strategic goals.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance job performance.
  • Perform additional related duties to maintain an efficient work environment.
  • Translate oral and written materials in English and Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili under Title III.
  • Assist schools with ELL parent education and involvement initiatives.
  • Introduce ELL parents to their roles through presentations, materials, and meetings.
  • Coordinate workshops, conferences, and advisory meetings for parental involvement.
  • Collaborate with the district to promote parental engagement.
  • Identify and share community resources related to parenting.
  • Develop and maintain resource files, promote community classes and events.
  • Enhance communication between ELL parents and school staff.
  • Support efforts to improve student attendance among ELL families.
  • Conduct home visits to support family needs and goals.
  • Work collaboratively with district staff, teachers, and families to resolve student-related issues.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Must be proficient in English and Spanish, Arabic, or Swahili.
