Position Overview
This role involves comprehensive training, with 10 days of onsite instruction in New York, NY, followed by the opportunity to work remotely upon successful completion of training. Training lasts a total of 6 weeks. Candidates must reside within 100 miles of New York, NY.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from consumers, the general public, and enrollees, ensuring adherence to performance standards, policies, and confidentiality guidelines.
- Respond effectively to inquiries via inbound/outbound contacts, documenting all interactions accurately.
- Process applications for healthcare coverage over the phone, including building tax households, income assessment, eligibility determinations, and enrollment.
- Assist with changes such as life events, demographic updates, disenrollments, and special enrollment periods.
- Fulfill caller requests for materials through mail, email, or downloads.
- Provide translation services for non-English speaking callers, primarily in Haitian Creole and English.
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate staff for resolution.
- Participate in meetings and training to stay current on programs and systems.
- Meet quality assurance and performance metrics as set by management.
- Adhere to safety standards and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required, with a minimum of 6 months of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in English and Haitian Creole — able to speak, read, and translate effectively.
- Residency within 100 miles of New York, NY.
- Strong data entry and telephone skills.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work collaboratively.
Working Conditions
This position predominantly involves working in an office environment, with some lifting of items up to 25 pounds. Extended periods of stationary work are required. Flexibility to adapt to shifting schedules and priorities is essential.
