Position Overview 🎯
MHS is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. This unique, meaningful career involves living in on-campus student homes and offering care, guidance, supervision, and support to groups of approximately 8–13 students. You will help create a family-like atmosphere that nurtures students' academic, emotional, and social growth, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities 📝
- Providing daily supervision and mentorship to students
- Managing household routines and student schedules
- Administering medications and promoting student wellness
- Driving students to activities and engaging in developmentally enriching recreational activities
- Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel services
- Overseeing household budgeting and reporting
Schedule & Transition 🗓️➡️🏠
Initially, houseparents support various student homes on a schedule of nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. During weekdays, they have unscheduled time while students are in school. After gaining experience, couples transition to a Placed Houseparent role, residing and working with the same group of students in their own dedicated student home.
Compensation & Benefits 💰🎁
- Salary: $44,768 per person, totaling approximately $168,000 per couple annually, which includes free housing, meals while on duty, utilities, and more

Qualifications ✅
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Legally married couples for at least two years
- Both spouses aged 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children living in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Pet restrictions: only fish and one breed-approved dog
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to obtain certification for driving student vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing not permitted)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role model qualities
