Role Overview 🔍

We are seeking a bilingual Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) Disenrollment Specialist to support our member retention efforts. If you are attentive, proactive, and dedicated to helping members navigate disenrollment requests and related issues, you might be the perfect fit!

Schedule 📅

  • Full-time availability required
  • Overtime during the Annual Enrollment Period (October - December) and Open Enrollment Period (January - March)

Key Responsibilities 📋

  • Escalation Resolution: Serve as a subject matter expert for escalated member calls at risk of disenrollment, resolving issues related to authorizations, claims, and provider network concerns.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance processes within the Member Engagement department through collaboration.
  • Goal Achievement: Meet and exceed individual and team monthly targets, submitting activity reports as required.
  • Member Support: Conduct outbound/inbound calls, adapting communication based on member preferences, including multilingual support using interpreter services if needed.
  • Collaborations: Work with partners across departments, vendors, and provider networks to improve the member experience.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Record interactions accurately in systems, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and health plan regulations.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Consistently go "above and beyond" to ensure member satisfaction.
  • Training & Support: Assist with onboarding new hires through shadowing and training sessions.

Required Skills & Experience 🎯

  • At least 1 year of healthcare experience; 2-4 years preferred
  • Experience with Medi-Cal, Commercial, Medicare Managed Care Plans, or related sales/customer service
  • Excellent phone and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Understanding of Medicare Advantage enrollment/disenrollment guidelines
  • High school diploma or GED; relevant experience may substitute
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Vietnamese, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese), or Korean preferred
  • Sales license or completion of Alignment’s sales certification a plus
  • Experience helping members access care through Medicare Advantage, referrals, and authorizations
  • Self-motivated and able to prioritize effectively
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach
  • Flexible scheduling as per department needs
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Work Environment & Physical Requirements 🏃‍♀️

The role is primarily remote, requiring employees to be comfortable with regular communication via phone and computer. Physical demands include speaking and hearing frequently, along with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Visual and focus adjustments are necessary for computer use.
