We are searching for a dynamic, bilingual (English & Spanish) Banking Branch Manager with a proven track record in retail banking, business development, and community engagement to lead our branch to success.
Overview
This role involves managing all branch activities, ensuring excellent customer and employee experiences, digital engagement, operations, servicing, and sales. The Branch Manager holds personal production responsibility and oversees the overall success of the branch’s operational model.
Primary Responsibilities
- Profitability & Growth 💰: Drive sales, business development, meet operational targets, and achieve annual goals.
- Team Leadership 🤝: Lead, coach, and develop staff, set priorities, and foster a high-performance culture.
- Customer & Community Engagement 🌍: Identify customer needs, expand Business Banking relationships through outreach, and enhance the bank’s community presence.
- Staffing & Compliance 📋: Conduct interviews, ensure staffing aligns with the model, and maintain adherence to operational, security, and regulatory policies.
- Operational Excellence 🛡️: Ensure adherence to guidelines, prevent fraud, and handle complex account servicing issues.
- Loan Processing & Product Bundling 💼: Process Business Banking loan requests up to $100,000 and proactively bundle products/services.
- Risk & Control Standards 🔒: Maintain compliance with risk controls and internal/external audit requirements.
- Leadership & Strategy 🧭: Reinforce Retail strategy, foster a culture of belonging, and represent the M&T Bank brand.
Scope of Responsibilities
The Branch Manager reports to a Retail Regional Manager, leading the team toward sales and profitability targets. They maintain federal registration requirements under the SAFE Act, stay current on products and systems, and demonstrate sound risk management. A significant portion of time is dedicated to growing the branch through proactive sales activities and building partnerships within the bank.
Supervisory & Managerial Responsibilities
Directly oversee branch staff, conduct performance evaluations, manage staffing, and facilitate career development.
Education & Experience Requirements 🎓
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience if degree is unavailable
- Minimum three years of sales experience
- At least two years of managerial or leadership experience
- License requirements (Life/Accident & Health Insurance) within 18 months if applicable (training provided within 6 months)
- Demonstrated knowledge of Business Banking products and client relationship management
- Fluency in English and Spanish (assessment required)
- Proficiency with PC software, Microsoft Office, internet, and email

Compensation & Location 💼
The annual salary range is $72,200 – $120,300 (USD), commensurate with experience and skills.
