About the Role
As a Territory Sales Representative (internally titled Medicare Benefit Consultant (MBC)), you will be responsible for managing your designated Virginia territory. You will work directly with Medicare beneficiaries, helping them understand their healthcare options, enroll in Curana Health's Medicare Special Needs Plans (ISNP, IESNP, MAPD), and build trusted relationships within the community. This position is ideal for a motivated, relationship-driven professional who thrives in community settings and is passionate about supporting seniors.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a Virginia territory by conducting in-person and virtual sales appointments with Medicare beneficiaries.
- Educate prospective members on plan options, benefits, and eligibility, ensuring clear, compliant, and friendly communication.
- Develop and grow your geographic territory to increase enrollment, retention, and market presence.
- Build relationships with senior living staff, community organizations, and healthcare providers serving the Medicare population.
- Utilize consultative selling techniques to identify customer needs and present suitable plan options, highlighting features and benefits.
- Deliver educational sessions and training to partner staff to support awareness and enrollment efforts.
- Achieve enrollment targets and consistently meet or exceed individual sales goals.
- Provide exceptional service throughout the enrollment process, answering questions about benefits and eligibility.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare Marketing Guidelines and regulatory standards in all activities.
- Accurately document sales activities, customer interactions, and enrollments in CRM systems.
- Plan and manage travel, schedule appointments, and oversee daily territory activities independently.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in sales, healthcare, or customer-facing roles
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, customer service, or related fields with a focus on customer needs
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 75%) within Virginia; candidates near Richmond are strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain a state insurance license within 30 days of hire (company support provided)
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including clear presentation to individuals and small groups
- Organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing a territory independently
- Comfortable initiating outreach and establishing new community relationships
- Proficiency with computers and CRM tools
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds of materials

- Experience working directly with seniors or in healthcare settings (e.g., senior living, home health, hospice, care coordination)

- Experience in customer-facing B2C environments
- Familiarity with Medicare or health insurance products (not required but a plus)
