Overview

We are seeking a bilingual (Japanese-English) licensed attorney to become a valuable part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication abilities in both languages and have experience or a strong interest in U.S.-Japan legal matters. This role features extensive client interaction, diverse casework, and ample opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and representation in areas such as corporate law, personal injury, trust & estate, or litigation
• Draft and review contracts and legal documents in both Japanese and English
• Communicate effectively with Japanese clients and legal counterparts
• Conduct legal research and analysis for cross-border legal issues
• Support senior attorneys with case management and client development

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in California or eligible for bar admission
• Native or near-native proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)
• 1–3 years of legal experience preferred; recent J.D. graduates with relevant background may also be considered
• Understanding of Japanese business culture and legal concepts is a strong advantage
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
