📝 Job Overview

Department: Academics and Student Learning

🎯 Position Summary

Supports students in academics and English language acquisition. Ensures new families and students are supported while they navigate the U.S. educational system by providing high-quality interpreting and translation services.

🎓 Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent training and experience; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Native speaker fluency in Korean (or the language reflecting ELL needs).
  • Near-native speaker fluency in English.
  • Teaching or related experience preferred.
  • Alternative qualifications may be considered appropriate and acceptable by the Board of Education.

🛠️ Essential Duties

  • Assist with the assessment and evaluation of English Language Learners.
  • Arrange and facilitate interpreting for parent-teacher communication.
  • Provide translation services between school and families as needed.
  • Assist ESL teachers with school functions and serve as a community liaison.
  • Maintain ELL students' school and student records.
  • Interpret for school personnel as required.
  • Collaborate with ESL and regular classroom teachers regarding students' programs and progress.
  • Participate in district in-service and teacher training sessions.
  • Meet regularly with the ESL supervisor.
  • Assist ELLs within the regular classroom setting.
  • Support students and families during transitions into Dublin City Schools.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students.
  • Establish and maintain professional, cooperative relationships.
  • Adhere to district policies regarding alcohol and substance use, ensuring a drug-free workplace.
  • Exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
  • Serve as a positive role model demonstrating responsible citizenship and behavior.
  • Promote understanding of ethical principles and democratic values.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and family information at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

⏰ Terms of Employment

191 days (including 183 regular days and 8 paid holidays); 7 hours per day (excluding lunch) as scheduled by the Supervisor. The work year and salary are to be established per the Negotiated Agreement and determined by the Board of Education.

$32.88 per hour
