Salary: $17.00 per hour plus benefits

Department: Behavioral Health

Job Type: Full Time (5 days a week, 40 hours total), Non-Exempt (pays overtime)

🕒 Work Schedule & Locations

  • Location 1: 4301 Rising Sun Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19140
    Open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Location 2: 3265 N Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140
    Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

🔹 Job Summary

As a Behavioral Health Receptionist, you will be the first friendly voice and face, facilitating communication between participants, therapists, and physicians. Your role involves answering questions, providing information, maintaining records, and supporting both clients and staff with excellent organizational and customer service skills. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.

📝 Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and program participants, directing them to appropriate staff members
  • Answer and screen phone calls, take messages, and forward calls as needed
  • Check participant eligibility using the PROMISE system at each treatment event
  • Conduct initial intake procedures for new program members
  • Update and manage lists of active and closed cases, ensuring confidentiality
  • Type reports, memos, labels, and correspondence accurately
  • Process daily billing for therapists and psychiatrists
  • Manage psychiatrists’ schedules, prepare charts, and coordinate appointments
  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment, and coordinate material pickups

📝 Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a mental health environment as a receptionist or intake personnel
  • Proficiency with office machines, phone systems, fax, PDFs, and information systems
  • Sensitivity and responsiveness to persons with disabilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively and maintain high confidentiality standards
  • Bilingual/Bicultural: Spanish and English preferred; fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applications essential
