Join Pearson's Evaluation Systems team in a rewarding role that supports teacher certification assessments across New York State. We are seeking qualified, dedicated scorers to evaluate constructed responses in various languages, helping to uphold high standards in teacher certification.

📚 Job Opportunity: ES Language Scorer (NY)

We are actively recruiting professionally certified New York State teachers and recent retirees to score responses for the New York State Teacher Certification Examinations™ Content Specialty Tests in Languages Other Than English (LOTE) and Bilingual Education Assessments (BEA). We welcome applicants in all language areas, especially the following:

🔍 Eligibility & Qualifications

• Possess a permanent or professional New York State teaching certificate in the relevant content area and currently teach in a NY State school (public or private), or
• Be a native or fluent speaker in the language with a college degree, or
• Have recent experience in education at colleges/universities, holding a degree in a content-relevant field or having taught/advised in such a field within the last five years.

📝 Responsibilities

• Evaluate constructed responses of teacher candidates in New York.
• Internalize training and scoring guides effectively.
• Participate actively in scoring discussions.
• Apply scoring rubrics impartially, setting aside personal biases.
• Meet quality and productivity standards.
• Engage in consensus scoring activities with other scorers.

🎯 Applicant Requirements

• Must be a resident of New York State and eligible to work in the U.S.

💰 Compensation & Details

Rate: $17 - $17.50 per hour
