Towson University's College of Liberal Arts is seeking a dedicated educator for a 9-month Assistant Teaching Professor position in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, beginning in August 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant academic community!
🔍 Qualifications
- PhD in French or related field is required.
- ABD candidates will also be considered.
- Near-native proficiency in French is necessary.
- Note: TU cannot sponsor any visa for this position.
🎓 Responsibilities
- Teach four (4) courses of first-year French each semester during the 2026-2027 academic year.
- Maintain minimal additional service responsibilities.
🌐 About the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
The department employs 22 full-time faculty members who teach over 350 majors and minors. It offers courses in 11 languages, with students able to major in:
- Foreign Languages with a concentration in French, French Secondary Education, Spanish, or Spanish Secondary Education.
- Deaf Studies.
Additionally, the department offers minors in eight languages, including French, as well as a minor in Linguistics.

💰 Salary & Benefits
Targeted salary range: $52,000 - $53,000
