Position Overview
The Specialist collaborates with school staff to leverage community resources, address social/emotional needs, and enhance academic performance. Hours typically include a 7-hour day from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the possibility of working before or after school as needed. This is a ongoing role anticipated to start in the 2026-27 school year.

Key Responsibilities
- Request attendance data to identify students with attendance or tardiness patterns.
- Build trusting relationships with students and their families.
- Participate in community events for students and families.
- Collaborate with district staff to develop strategies for improving attendance and academic outcomes.
- Coordinate with teachers, counselors, and specialists to meet student needs.
- Connect families with district resources such as health, mental health, arts, and afterschool programs.
- Guide parents in supporting their children's social and academic development.
- Foster positive relationships with families, staff, and community organizations.
- Engage with families during events like Open House, conferences, and workshops.
- Support students through College Bound Scholarship enrollment.
- Monitor intervention outcomes and adjust strategies accordingly.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to perform responsibilities effectively.
- High school diploma or GED; college coursework preferred.
- Proficiency in English and an identified language, including translation skills.
- Cultural competence in US and student communities.
- Professional and positive interaction with diverse groups.
- Understanding of culturally responsive programs and activities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience with Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Soft skills: professionalism, confidentiality, adaptability, empathy, tact, calmness, initiative, and collaboration.
